To my surprise, he apologized.
Directly to me.
“I heard about what happened last night,” he said.
“A husband should offer care, patience, and support when his wife is pregnant.”
He glanced at his son.
“And I’m disappointed that didn’t happen.”
The room went silent.
My husband shifted uncomfortably, clearly embarrassed by his father’s words.
But my father-in-law wasn’t angry.
His tone was steady and sincere.
