The Words That Healed a Family
“I forgive you,” Liam said softly.
My father flinched.
“I forgive you,” Liam repeated. “For what you did to my mom… and for what you didn’t do for me.”
Silence filled the room.
My father looked down at his hands.
His voice cracked as he spoke.
“I thought… I thought I was teaching her responsibility.”
Liam responded gently.
“You taught her she could survive without you.”
He paused.
“But you missed everything else.”
Something inside my chest loosened in that moment.
