I smiled.

At the office I couldn’t concentrate.
I attended meetings, talked about strategies and campaigns… but one sentence kept echoing in my mind:
“Your career can wait.”
“Gabriela, are you okay?” my deputy Mariana asked. “You look very pale today.”
“Family matters,” I replied.
